Gloria joined the Port of Newport in July 2021. She brings four years of government experience and four years of journalism experience. Her service included working as Deputy City Recorder for the City of Newport, providing public meeting support, records management, and community outreach. Prior to that, she covered community news and events as a reporter for the Newport News-Times. Originally from Illinois, Gloria moved to Toledo, Oregon, in 2016. Her brother has since followed her. In addition to certification as a Certified Municipal Clerk, she holds a B.S. in Journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

channels of communication to all members of the public. As part of this commitment, Port of Newport
